Mary Vuong from the Houston Chronicle writes:

Houston is full of spectacular treasures for the home — if you have time to drive all over town, wade through antiques and browse in every boutique.

Ginger Wheless hopes her new venture, TheRedVault, will become a one-stop shop for design junkies who crave something unique. The idea is based on her first baby, REDNews, a publication that spotlights commercial real estate listings in Texas.

Although the site is still in its infancy, Wheless has already signed up at least 19 dealers, with more on the way. Most of them sell antiques and art; the list includes Vieux, Laura Rathe Fine Art, Maison Maison, sloan/hall and Laura U Collection.

Right now, it's more like a place to scout; the site features select merchandise from the dealers but doesn't sell it. That will eventually change, Wheless says. She also plans to recruit stores from across Texas.

Some of the architectural accessories include these beveled glass doors, from the early 20th century, now being used as a screen. Available from Vieux Interiors.
